St Peter’s Church, Treborough is a Grade 2* listed building and has been awarded a grant by English Heritage for £83,000 for vital renovation work, but we need to find £51,000 to complete the two year project.

We are asking all local businesses and people if they would kindly buy a slate for the roof for £10 to help us in our fund raising.  We will gladly publish the names of those who contribute (if that is what they would like).

We are hoping that when finished the church will be of more use to the local community for meetings and functions as well as worship.

There has been a church on the site of St Peter’s since the 12th Century.  It is on the same Ley lines as Cleeve Abbey and St Decumen’s Church in Watchet. The Ley lines come out of the sea at Watchet and only connect these three churches.  The Font was carved by the same craftsman as the Font in St Decumen’s Church and has the famous ‘Somerset Angels’ on it. These are angels with shields and are only found in Somerset.

We do hope you will be able to support us with prayer and/or financially.
